Kernehuset – In the heart of IrmaByen

The Kernehuset building is located in the heart of IrmaByen, Rødovre’s new district. This area is where the Irma Group used to have its headquarters, but this has now given way to the development of one of the capital area’s most exciting construction projects. A new district that combines urban life with wonderful nature experiences. Surrounded by green areas and in close proximity to the city. Next to Kernehuset, you can find Kaffetårnet (The Coffee Tower). The tower is a landmark of IrmaByen, and was where the Irma supermarket chain previously experimented with coffee roasts and produced the famous Irma coffee.

Green areas close to Copenhagen

Kernehuset is close to everything. Vestvolden – the largest continuous green space in the capital region – is right outside your front door. Vestvolden stretches all the way to the beach in Hvidovre. Children can walk from Kernehuset to activities such as football, tennis or hockey within two minutes, and they can reach the nearby schools and institutions safely and quickly. Denmark’s best-performing shopping centre, Rødovre Centrum, is also located nearby.

Welcome to Kernehuset and IrmaByen

From your home in Kernehuset, you can reach Copenhagen City Hall Square (Rådhuspladsen) in just over 20 minutes by bicycle. With modern amenities such as bike pumps, ‘green waves’ and footrests, the C99 bike path runs right behind IrmaByen and takes you through recreation areas straight out to Copenhagen’s lakes.

The square in front of the Kaffetårnet tower is named after Irma’s renowned director, Børge Olsen.
